Tree Sort Order Registry entry

Specify the sort order for displaying the terms of a Thesaurus in browse mode.

Value column:type

where:

acronym

is the Thesaurus acronym.

column:type

is:

column

specifies on which column in the Thesaurus record to base the sort.

type

can be:

alpha

Alphabetic sort (case sensitive).

alphaIC

Alphabetic sort (case insensitive, i.e. Ignore Case).

standard

Alphabetic sort (case insensitive) with punctuation and any parentheses within terms removed (based on Z39.19).

numeric

Numeric sort.

Note: This entry is not required for every Thesaurus. Where an entry does not exist, the default column is assumed to be the term (TerTerm) and the default sort type is assumed to be alpha.

Examples

The column HieHierarchyNotation is to be used for AAT records with a case sensitive alphabetic sort:
